We are delighted to welcome saxophonist and singer Stephanie Lottermoser. Her last album at Motor Music climbed to number two of the German jazz charts. We are looking forward to her first LEOPARD recording. The title of the new album is HAMBURG. This city on the river Elbe is currently centre of our artist’s life. The release is scheduled for late January 2021.
We all know him from the movie PURPLE RAIN and as a member of the bands THE FAMILY und THE TIME: St. Paul Peterson. Now this all-round musician will release his new studio album under the LEOPARD label.
Exquisite funk, soul and pop will be assembled on this recording scheduled for release in spring of 2021. It will be the first album of the erstwhile Atlantic Records artist since 2004. We are excited!
RICKY PETERSON & THE PETERSON BROTHERS – UNDER THE RADAR is the title of the new album by the Hammond B3 specialist from the funk-city Minneapolis. Peterson, who attracted much attention with his last album DROP SHOT, has delivered a funky statement together with his cousin Jason and his brothers Paul and Bill. Ready for release in spring of 2021.
We are pleased to announce new artists joining our label and are happy to welcome them at JAZZLINE. We managed to sign on guitarist MARK LETTIERI, one of the most talented musicians from the well-known band Snarky Puppy. Mark is currently working hard on his new studio album.
It will be ready for release under the JAZZLINE label in spring of 2021.
Alongside Mark Lettieri, CODY WRIGHT is one of the hottest young electronic bass musicians in the United States. Cody will strengthen our artist roster at JAZZLINE. More news on him in the near future!
MARRIAGE MATERIAL is the name of the band established by percussionist Felix Lehrmann from Berlin and bassist Thomas Stieger.
Together with their colleagues Raphael Meinhart (vibes, marimba...) and Arto Mäkelä (g) the four young gentlemen present their debut album on JAZZLINE. For their first recording they have also invited guest artists: Kurt Rosenwinkel, Julian & Roman Wasserfuhr, Simon Oslender and many more.
Phil was Prince’s musical director when he showed up at the Montreux Jazz Festival some years ago with a surprisingly large band, a big band that is. We are pleased that Phil Lassiter has signed a contract with LEOPARD and will release his future albums under our label. His first new album will be exceptionally funky and many special guests are joining him: Juan Luis Guerra, David Paich (Toto), Durand Bernarr (Erykah badu), Mono Neon (Prince), Jeff Coffin (Dave Mathews Band), Robert Sput Searight (Snarky Puppy), Munir Hossn, Nate Werth (Snarky Puppy), Mackenzie (NPG Tribute Band), Nikki Glaspie (Dumpstaphunk) and many more.
The album will be released in spring of 2021.
BOB MINTZER was in the studio to record his new album SOUNSCAPES together with the WDR BIG BAND Cologne. SOUNSCAPES, which will be released in early summer 2021 under the label JAZZLINE, includes ten brand-new compositions by the renowned big band expert. And the WDR Big Band is at its best!
90 years old and still going strong. The Dutch master trumpeter and flugelhorn specialist ACK VAN ROOYEN has recorded a new album on the occasion of his birthday. He was joined by top-class musicians: Paul Heller (ts), Hubert Nuss (p), Ingmar Heller (b), Peter Tiehus (g) and Hans Dekker (dr). These names speak for themselves. Soon at JAZZLINE.
JAZZLINE classics has scheduled two TOP releases for January / February 2021. At first we will present hitherto unreleased studio recordings of WES MONTGOMERY. The recordings feature this legendary American guitarist, who passed away much too early, together with a true all-star cast, including Martial Solal, Johnny Griffin, Ronnie Scott, Hans Koller and others. We will also include a special bonus: a 30-min DVD documenting the rehearsals of the band. The album will be released under the title WES MONTGOMERY – THE NDR HAMBURG STUDIO RECORDINGS.
KURT EDELHAGEN was one of the most important big band leaders of the 1950s and 1960s. Many people know Edelhagen from his “commercial recordings” with Caterina Valente or his contribution to the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in Munich 1972. Recordings from the archives of the WDR prove beyond doubt that Kurt Edelhagen was a sublime jazz big band leader. Never released until now, we have selected, restored and remastered a total of 205 minutes of exquisite music, filling three CD boxes. It is the best Edelhagen and his band produced in the years between 1957 and 1974. Musicians featured include: Maynard Ferguson, Philly Joe Jones, Mark Murphy, Toots Thielemans, Jiggs Whigham, Kenny Wheeler, Karl Drewo and many more.
A true MUST HAVE!
